Home/Energy/Solar Systems

Energy solutions

Solar power designed around the way you actually use energy

We do not sell one system in three sizes. Every Sunnovate solar installation starts from your load, your roof and the hours you need covered.

The problem

Solar disappoints when it is sold before it is sized

Most bad solar experiences in Nigeria are not product failures. They are sizing failures — a system bought by budget or by package name rather than measured against the load it has to carry.

The result is predictable: the bank runs flat before morning, the inverter trips when the pump starts, and the array never fully recharges what was drawn the night before.

Unreliable supply

Power arrives when it arrives. Work, cooling and business hours bend around it.

Generator dependence

Fuel, servicing and replacement — a cost that climbs yearly and never becomes an asset.

Undersized backup

A system bought without a load assessment runs out halfway through the night.

Rising energy costs

Two bills every month, for one supply that still cannot be relied on.

Our approach

Assess, size, design, install, support

Five stages, in order. The first one is the one most installers skip.

01

Assess

An engineer visits, measures your actual load and checks roof space, shading and cable routes.

02

Size

Array, inverter and storage calculated from measured demand and the backup hours you need.

03

Design

A full specification you can read and compare — not a bundle name and a price.

04

Install

Our own engineers fit, wire and configure the system. No subcontracted crews.

05

Support

Commissioning, handover and ongoing maintenance arrangements.

What is in the system

The parts, and why each one is specified against the others

A solar installation is four decisions that constrain each other. Get one wrong and the others cannot compensate.

The array determines how much you can generate. The inverter determines what you can run at once. The battery determines how long you last without sun or grid. The mounting and protection determine whether it survives the weather.

Solar panels — monocrystalline, polycrystalline or bifacial, laid out for your roof

Inverter — rated for your starting loads, not only your running loads

Battery storage — sized to the hours of autonomy you actually need

Controls and protection — isolation, surge protection and monitoring

Mounting infrastructure — matched to your roof construction

Choose your path

Residential or commercial — two different sizing problems

A home is judged on whether it carries the household overnight. A business is judged on whether it keeps trading. The engineering priorities differ.

Residential energy

Homes, apartments and estates where the design question is overnight autonomy.

Lighting, refrigeration and connectivity as the always-on base

Air conditioning assessed separately — it changes the whole design

Pumps and irons treated as short high-draw events

Commercial energy

Offices, shops and facilities where an outage is measured in lost revenue.

Load profiled across the trading day rather than averaged

Critical circuits prioritised on the backup path

Phased installation so the business keeps operating

System finder

Get an indicative system size in about three minutes

Answer six questions about what you run and how long you need it. The tool returns array, inverter and storage capacity — then an engineer confirms it on site.

Common questions

What buyers ask us

How much does a solar installation cost?

Cost follows the specification, and the specification follows your load. The same house can need very different systems depending on whether it runs air conditioning. Run the system finder for an indicative size, then request a quote and we will price that exact specification.

How much roof space do I need?

It depends on array size, module wattage and how much of the roof is usable once orientation and shading are accounted for. This is measured during the site assessment — an estimate from a satellite image is not reliable enough to design from.

Can solar replace my generator?

For most households, yes, provided the system is sized against real load. Heavy intermittent loads such as welding or industrial machinery are assessed case by case. Many clients keep the generator as a last resort while running everything else on solar.

Can I run air conditioning on solar?

Yes, but it changes the system substantially — an inverter AC unit can double a household’s daily energy on its own. Declare it at sizing stage, because adding capacity later costs far more than including it in the original design.

Do you install, or only supply?

Both. You can buy components if you have your own installer, or have Sunnovate design, supply, install and commission the complete system.
